Academic Advanced Field Trip

Dear Parents:

As you know, we have been selected to pilot test a new architectural heritage educational curriculum. The "Louisiana Studies Historic Preservation supplement," as it is called, was developed through a joint effort of the Louisiana Division of Historic Preservation and the State Department of Education

The curriculum's goal is to provide a sense of appreciation, pride and stewardship for Louisiana's unique architecture. This is the first architectural heritage education curriculum in the nation to be implemented on a statewide basis.

In conjunction with our architecture study, we are planning a field trip – Thursday, May 3, 1990. This trip's objective is to show the students actual examples of architecture styles we have studied. It is also designed to make them aware of the wonderful historical homes in Avoyelles Parish.

Our schedule is still tentative but we are hoping to visit the following:

We were able to reserve the Bunkie High School activity bus, but will have to pay for the gasoline (about $50.00) and a driver (about $32.00). As a result, we are asking the participants to help bear this cost and therefore each student is being asked to pay $3.00.

If there are any questions about the trip, please feel free to call me.

Sincerely,
