| | | | | Pottery Toy Dog | | The hindquarters of pottery toy dog appear to resemble the pottery toys of the Wichita Indians. The Wichita were Caddoan speakers and northwestern neighbors to the Caddo. The Wichita and western Caddo were allies, so the appearance of a Wichita style toy dog at Los Adaes is not surprising. This toy fragment is 3.38 cm tall. | | Photo credit: Don Sepulvado Source: Williamson Museum, Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, Louisiana | |
