In truth, the interpreters were preparing for a visit from the Spanish Duke of San Carlos, who visited Los Adaes SHS in fall of 2003. The interpreters include two volunteers—Jesse Randy Smith on the far left, and Mark Ayres on the far right, and Los Adaes Interpretive Ranger Cornial Cox—second from left, and Interpretive Wage Worker Jared Dodd—second from right.
