|  | |  | | | French Plate Fragment | | | This French tin-enameled plate fragment was found in a pit located south of the eastern bastion. The large proportion of French pottery in this area suggests that it may have been the house of a French trader. When Los Adaes was closed down in 1773, three French traders and their wives remained at the settlement. Lead-glazed French pottery has also been recovered from Los Adaes, but in much smaller quantities than tin-enameled French wares. The tin-enameled wares were the more expensive wares.
