Comments: First of all, nothing should have been historical after hurricane katrina. If any building was damage more than 50% by katrina, the building should have been demolish. This is the reason the city is in this horrible condition. There are buildings that are in great need of being demolish, but because the historical district rather see the building remain for historical purposes, the buildings remain standing and continue to be an eye sore to the city. Wheatley school should have been torn down long before hurricane katrina. Stop living in the past, live in the present and for the future. Let these old buildings be demolish. Demolish Wheatley School immediately, and all other buildings that need to be torn down....tear it down ASAP. GET RID OF THE HISTORICAL DISTRICT IMMEDIATELY.
