Why is it that this City recognizes historic value in buildings made of brick and adorned with iron, but can't see the value in salvaging our more recent historic architectecture? Our modern architecture is worthy of praise on a national level and a remembrance of the City's more recent prosperity. This school was an amazingly beautiful building and can be again. Its destruction would be a symbol of our own ignorance, a discredit to those great designers and builders who created it, and a loss for us all. |
