Comments: I have lived in the block immediately adjacent to Audubon school for 40+ years. I am very familiar with the school and its needs. It is a fine building greatly in need of an interior renovation. I strongly oppose the demolition of the cottage facing Pine St. The block is residential and the cottage maintains that character. The cottage could use interior renovation as well.

The proposed new construction would have a terrible effect on the neighborhood by creating a wall several stories high, which would be quite close to the street. I have not heard a good reason for this considerable expansion, which has a most unpleasing appearance. The school officials claim that they are not planning to increase the population of the school, so there should be no need for such a large expansion. A much smaller expansion would accommodate the students who occupied the portable buildings, which have been removed.
