Comments: Audubon Charter School has held numerous community meetings over the past year regarding the renovation of the school building. I don't think I ever heard an objection to removing The caretakers Cottage during those meetings. Most of the concerns raised were about traffic and parking and the front of the structure. ACS is a successful charter school located in a school building that has been a school in the neighborhood for at least 80 years. No one in the neighborhood should be surprised it is still a school. All should have been aware of its presence when they chose the neighborhood. Sadly, increased school traffic is the result of living in a city with no neighborhood schools. Audubon's neighbors should be thrilled to have a successful school in their neighborhood, and understand that the caretakers cottage has no practical or safe purpose for a modern public school. In order to be a thriving city we need more Schools like Audubon. The relentless creation of new issues surrounding this renovation are exhausting for the administration of the school and serve only to hinder not to help.
