1/13/2018 • Louisiana State Arboretum, Ville Platte - Bluebird Basics, 1 - 3 p.m. Discover the tricks to attract nesting bluebirds, from "doīs and donīts" to a nesting timetable. This is a good starting point for beginners and a refresher for long-time bluebird fans alike. Following the presentation, preregistered participants will build a bluebird house to take home. there is a limit of one box per family and a $15 fee is required. We will conducting a short bio-blitz that everybody can be a part of to see how many plants and animals we can identify in a two-hour span. Field guides and binoculars will be available to participants to use during the program and all data collected will be used for citizen science projects such as eBird and iNaturalist.
