I was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in front of the sea . I am a mix of Puerto Rican, Peruvian and Italian. I´m a subrealistic painter using acrylic and oil on canvas also using crayons. My inspiration is primarily the bad moments in life, trying to take them and turn them into something positive. This is characterized by my cows with wings ( I AM MY RED COWS WITH WINGS ). Besides my pictures being a piece of art they have a life and a message, a positive message that one day someone may need..

Lisa di Stefano´s work employs subtle details, respectful suggestions, and rousing palettes. A Baton Rouge native, she often chooses the Louisiana landscape as the subject of her paintings; enlivening trees, water, and marsh grasses with a diversity of hues and thin, multi-layered brushstrokes. While her most recent work is an abstract interpretation of the landscape in motion, her past pieces have been compared to those of esteemed Louisiana artists George Dureau (1930-) and Alexander John Drysdale (1870-1934). Having learned and painted in the land of representation, Lisa now communicates to us from a more personal perspective. A native of Baton Rouge, di Stefano´s works are characterized by their extraordinary palette and whimsical composition. Her artwork has found a home in many private, public, and corporate collections. She has been a featured artist in selected exhibitions in Chicago, Dallas, New York, and Louisiana. In recent years, diStefano´s paintings have appeared in Southern Accents, Veranda, and other magazines and newspapers. Lisa di Stefano is currently represented by Ann Connelly Fine Art in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Rising Gallery in Dallas, Texas and Blue Gallery in Three Oaks, Michigan.

Taking a holistic approach to subject matter, I find importance in not only the primary object, but how it is synchronized with space surrounding it. Color and light are balanced between actuality and intuition. The colors of an object influence choice of hue, taking what I need and then making a subjective interpretation. Finding an extreme importance in creating art which compels the viewer to visualize beyond the boarders, I compose a vignette with a sense of a broader environment. A harmony of positive and negative space allows the composition to unfold.

George Marks is a contradiction. His work is simultaneously ordered and spontaneous. Carelessness and rigid geometry mingle on the canvas. Passages of drawing in the work range from sensitively rendered figuration to loose impetuous scrawls. His palette is generally warm and harmonious, but searing thin stripes of color may awaken the calm. All of his pieces are deliberately orchestrated to fit together into a continuous installation, and yet each is also an improvisation. The truly radical thing about Marks´ work is his process. Although, he simply labels his work with the obfuscating little phrase ´´mixed media on canvas´´, he has developed a vocabulary of materials and techniques that are unduplicated. This rich and complex combination of materials may of course be appreciated in its own right, but for Marks this is not the point. Rather, the medium is inextricably webbed to the message. Nothing is done for a strictly decorative purpose. His work brings forth far ranging art historical associations such as Edgar Degas to Barnett Newman, Richard Diebenkorn, and Donald Judd. What sets Marks´ work apart from many other modern painters, however, are his roots to the landscape and culture of South Louisiana . His work is never void of content, no matter how abstract the few simple notations become. His work recalls the flat broad vistas of that which each of us unconsciously knows by heart.

The artwork of Anastasia Pelias reflects a seriousness and dedication to traditional art practice that is strikingly relevant in the context of today´s postmodern art culture. An abstractionist in the truest form, Pelias´ work arises from a passion for painting, both the concept and the actuality - for the literalness of painting. Her canvases, explorations in brilliant color and visual relationships, are refreshingly free of irony and splendidly full of painterly forthrightness. Pelias was born in New Orleans, LA to Greek parents. Her artistic practice is rooted in the dual cultural identity of both her native and ancestral roots in New Orleans, LA and Skopelos, Greece. Blending the vibrant, compassionate nature of a New Orleanian with her weighty Greek heritage, Pelias´ work is rich with personal depth of emotion, life experience and the spirit of exploration. Pelias received her BFA from the Newcomb College of Tulane University in 1981 and her MFA from the University of New Orleans in 1996. Her career spans thirty years and multiple reinventions. Anastasia Pelias is represented in New Orleans by Octavia Art Gallery and in Houston by Zoya Tommy Contemporary. She has exhibited nationally and has works included in private and public collections, including the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art and the Mobile Museum of Art. Pelias had two solo exhibitions in 2013, in Houston and New Orleans. The exhibit, Ritual Devotion, at Octavia Art Gallery in New Orleans was accompanied by a catalogue with an essay by New York-based art critic and independent curator Lilly Wei.

Pramuk taught art at the LSU School of Art from 1964 to 2000. ´´I use imagined spaces, architectural motifs, and references to traditional painting to call up metaphors for my spatial concerns. I want to create a dream about the real, and at the same time to satisfy my interest in manipulating space. The fulfillment of this idea occurs when the weight of emotion generated by each pictorial situation is in harmony with an interior image. The revelation of images is the goal of my work.´´

With a glow of transparent watercolor washes, Sue shares the beauty in her surroundings. In creating pleasing designs of shapes, color and texture, she hopes to draw the viewer into her painting and evoke a sense of peace, good feeling and refreshment. Knowing since childhood that she had a gift in art, Sue did not fully embrace it until mid life. As a young adult, Sue began painting in watercolor for fun, learning the techniques of watercolor from a local artist. It was only in the past 14 years, though, that she took a more serious approach to art and began an intense self study of design principles and their application to her artwork. Sue has been exhibiting her work professionally since 1999. Her artwork hangs in many public and private art collections in the US and has been accepted into several juried shows in Texas and Louisiana, many times receiving awards. After spending 9 months painting indoor murals with a fellow artist in 2008, she found that creating art was her true passion. Painting has since become a defining aspect of her life. Smith has always felt fortunate to grow up amidst the richness of Cajun culture and the lush landscape of South Louisiana. Her appreciation for nature and diversity are strong elements of her work. My work is an embodiment of being lost. Growing up as an Army brat, I found myself constantly calling new places home, and spent countless hours wandering aimlessly in strange places. This act has carried forward into my art process, where every painting becomes a new place to discover, and the destination is as unknown as the route taken to get there. Sometimes these journeys are based on specific ideas that needs to be explored, or photographs of places visited that suggest possibilities that only the process of painting offers.
