As an alumnus and former administrator the thought of demolishing this historic edifice arouses feelings of sadness, disgust, and anger. In a perfect world I would fight to the death for complete restoration and renovation. Once its gone we have lost a piece of history forever. However, being a realist, I realize that the school district has budget constraints. They must repair, renovate, and rebuild as many schools as financially feasable with limited funds. As a result I can accept the demolition of the classroom building in order to have the auditorium completely restored and a new school built for our students, as long as the new building replicates the facade of the original building. |
