Comments: Audubon Charter, formally Audubon Montessori, had a peak student enrollment of 570 students Pre-Katrina. The only school that occupies the facility on Broadway is Audubon Charter School. The school has decreased the population of students at that location to 450. This is 120 students less than the population that occupied the building Pre-Katrina. We have a second building on South Carrollton that houses the older students.

The students of Orleans Parish deserve to be educated in classrooms with adequate space & light, it should be energy efficient and have adequate and clean bathrooms. The addition to the facility is not to increase the number of students, but to provide students with a larger classroom, natural lighting, and a state of the art educational facility. The students at Audubon receive a world class education, and they should receive that education in a world class building.
