Comments: As a former president and board member of the Uptown Triangle Neighborhood Association and longtime resident of the immediate area, I strongly oppose redevelopment of the campus without certain conciliatory measures towards the affected neighborhoods. Chiefly;
1. Dropoff and pickup of students be limited to Broadway St.;
2. A parking plan for faculty/staff/visitors limiting impact upon the neighbors be formulated with those affected;
3. A traffic and safety plan be instituted to better care for the students;
4. A limitation on enrollment be agreed upon and adhered to protect the neighborhoods going forward.
Over years, Audubon School has morphed from one serving the neighborhood to one where but a small number come from within walking distance. This change in identity from a neighborhood school to a school serving a much broader community has not come without pain to the neighborhood. To ameliorate those ills, I strongly believe the above conditions must be cemented in place before moving forward with any redevelopment plans.
