Comments: I would like to say that the church should be torn down. I understand that the church meant alot to some of the residents in the neighborhood, but I would like to propose the question: if Holy Cross does not build there then who will? I respect everyone's beliefs about what should be done with the property, but the church should be torn down. This is the post Katrina world that the residents of New Orleans live in today. We all must let go of the past to move forward with the future. There aren't many multi-million dollar new developments coming to the city of New Orleans. If Fema decides that the church must stay than I fear that FEMA will be hindering the growth, and revitilization of our great city. I fear that this gives precedent to other constructions that will greatlly hinder the economic growth of new developments thinking or trying to come to New Orleans. I think it would serve more of a benefit to the neighborhood to have a new construction then to have a blighted piece of land that the archdiocese has said they will not rebuild. I would also like to point out that the State, the City, and the archdiocese are all in agreement that the church should be torn down. This agreement on all levels of government from state to local including the owner of the property (the archdiocese) should say that this is in the best interest of all parties
