Comments: New Orleans needs Holy Cross High School to help the young men of our community get a good christian education, one where they will learn morals as well as information for a lifetime. New Orleans needs men of good character and intelligence to bring our city back.

Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini is honored on Esplanade Avenue with the orphanage she founded many years ago, and a fine girls high school which bears her name. She was concerned with the youth of this community from the time of her arrival in this city. That cconcern was what earned her sainthood. I feel sure she would want a fine Catholic high school that would help the youth of today become better citizens of our city as well as our nation, our world.

The building which seems to be the concern of those opposed to razing the site can also be remembered in history. A book detailing the design and building of the church with photographs and drawings will preserve its history and usage. Perhaps an architectural class could construct a model of the building which could be displayed at a university or museum - Tulane University or The Historic New Orleans Collection for instance, whereby credit could be given to the architects who designed the building itself. New Olrleans saw fit to tear down a truly architectural treasure, the Rivergate to build a gambling casino. Can we not do the same to a storm damaged church to provide a site for a much needed school?

Holy Cross High School, a truly historic part of our city since the 19th century deserves a place in our future as part of New Orleans. Our youth and our neighborhoods need this school. Help our city rebuild, the sooner the better.

St. Frances Xavier Cabrini church building is a victim of hurricane Katrina as are so many other places. The congregation is alive and trying to rebuild thier neighborhood. Let's move forward toward a better city. Stop the legal proceedings and start building a new Holy Cross High School.
