St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Church, 5500 Paris Avenue, New Orleans, LA
Comments: Post modern or not, it was never a functional building. The building roof leaked from the time it was built and maintenance cost were rediculously high. Preservation should be about architecture and buildings that uplift and improve the quality of life in the community. This building was nothing but a burden to the end user and the community. If you want a monument, go build one and raze Cabrini Church. I'd also like to know why one of the designer's of this building, Arthur Davis, is crying to save this building when he supported the demolition of another better example of this era in design - The Rivergate. Oh yeah, I forgot, he was part of the design team for the new casino.
