||If we truly had such an architecturally significant building in our midst for the past 44 years, how come we are only finding out about it now? I grew up in Cabrini parish and attended elementary school and church there. I don't recall any buses carrying picture-taking tourists coming through the neighborhood.
To most of the people who worshiped at Cabrini, the church building became more and more burdensome each year. This isn't to say that those who had a connection to the church won't mourn its passing, but, as it was said in the meeting tonight - it's time to let it go. However, I would like to ask Holy Cross to please consider the idea of a shared chapel that would be available to both the Holy Cross community and parishioners for Sunday masses. What better place for neighbors to come together?
