Comments: We are a city of turn-of-the-century architecture. Buildings built in the era of St. Francis Xavier Cabrini might have sentimental value, but in no way contribute to the overall makeup of the character and historical nature of the city of New Orleans. I have belonged to the Preservation Resource Center and National Historic Preservation Society for over 25 years and feel horrified at some of the 1960's and later buildings that people want to preserve.

This would create a hardship on Holy Cross whose construction is essential to the rebirth and re-growth of that area of our city. We are fortunate to have had this site been chosen by Holy Cross and we should not handicap them with burdens of questionable architectural value.

Eligibility for designation is not in any way enough criteria to retain a structure of questionable value that does not add to the fabric of the city's character and attraction. How many tour buses will be heading out Paris Avenue to see this thing?
