Comments: It is incomprehensible to me that there is any further discussion on this topic. This was all decided months ago through the proper channels. The Gentilly area needs this school to revitalize the neighborhood. There aren't enough residents to support a church let alone money to repair it in the state it is presently in. I understand that people have fond memories of this church. My high school graduation was at St. Francis Cabrini and I attended several years of elementary school there, but I have fonder memories of the city where I grew up and have raised my children. This is just a building and I believe rebuilding neighborhoods and providing good schools to educate our children in a devasted city is more historically significant than the architecture of St. Francis Cabrini Church. Why is it that everytime we take one step forward toward putting our city back together, someone steps in who has no business being there in the first place or is there just to make a name for themself and pushes us two steps back. My frustration level is so high because of ridiculous situations like this that it makes me wonder why I am still living here!
