Comments: For those who continue to spout thenonsense that FEMA should not pay for the rebuilding of A Catholic School, I ask why not? Holy Cross was a for profit school that paid taxes. They are just as entitled to my tax dollars as any other individual or entity. More deserving than most in my opinion.
It is a great school with a long history, the ninth ward is not a sustainable location for a school anymore...especially with the damage done to St. Bernard. So that is not a viable location for it to truly return to. Let it be reborn in Gentilly and in the process help to revitialize a once vibrant community.

If the current church does not fit in their master plan for a new state of the art facility so be it. tear down a 40 year old church.. that no one seems to have any ideas of how to renovate or pay for the upkeep of.

Let the tradition of Holy Cross continue. It is not about taking one ball, or whining after the fact.. They chose the location based on tearing the church down.. If that changes they have the right to look elsewhere. They will go to Kenner and be reborn there taking a much needed educational facility from New Orleans as well as much needed tax dollars, jobs, ect...

This debate is one of the reasons there are so few major corporations located in New Orleans.
