Comments: Some Facts: on a return plane flight to NO in early fall of 2006, a SFC parishioner was seated next to the Archbishop. She casually asked of what was the planned fate for her beloved church. Told it was to be closed and torn down, the Archbishop bluntly added "It's all about money." This sum of money is the $4.2 million flood insurance payout on SFC church that the Archdiocese (AD) has tried to surreptiously steal away from the parish and its parishioners. The plan hatched between the AD and HC during the debate betwwen the Kenner and the Gentilly site was that by flying under the rader screeen the church could be eradicated before anyone knew what was really going on. It's all very simple--the AD gets all the $$ and HC gets the site sans church. Everything fits into this pattern: 1. the informal, poorly publicized kangaroo court meeting where the parishioners supposedly "voted" themselves out of existence, 2. the insistence that the church was at least 51% damaged when it fact it was only 20% damaged by Katrina at most; 3. and the under the radar obtainance of the permit from the city for the $700,000 demo project costs (applied for by an agent of Broadmoor on behalf of the AD).

Don't be deluded, all you SFC haters. You have a right to know these facts. This thing has smelled very bad from the beginning. HC is a great school, but to be blindly supportive of HC at any cost is to be intolerant. You are looking increasingly foolish.
