Comments: As a Holy Cross Alumni I was personally hoping the school woudl move to the Kenner site. I thought it would have been better for the school in the long run. After the decision to stay in New Orleans came down I was disapointed at first. However after seeing the response of most in the SFC community I felt a ray of hope shining through. For the school to be successful it needs the community around it to support them. I will continue to support Holy Cross no matter where they are located, but if the people of the SFC community really are that commited to keeping the church I almost hope Holy Cross decides to back out and go elsewhere. I don't think the people supporting keeping the church are looking at the big picture. Sure you have a love for the church, but who is going to pay to fix and maintain a structure that is known for having very expensive maintenence problems? What good is a church without a community to go to services there? Holy Cross is providing you all with an opportunity to rebuild not only a church, but an entire community that has suffered through countless heartache. When its all said and done does it really matter what building you go to church in? Isn't it more about going to praise God for what you have and what he has given you. I think God is giving the citizens of the SFC community the opportunity for a new beginning that will insure the SFC legacy and community live on for many years to come.
