Comments: I could not disagree more that FEMA and the Louisiana State Historic Preservatin Office has determined that St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. Unless it was designed by the likes of Frank Lloyd Wright, no building built in the 1960s should be deemed historic. There is no unanimity that this building is historic or even a great example of architecture. In fact, many consider it to be a failed piece of architecture. The historic review seems to be an attempt by a few cronies and friends of the building's architect to preserve his legacy. I believe there is absolutely no adverse effect to tearing down this building. I urge FEMA to approve the destruction of this building as soon as possible. If the architect's supporters wish to remember the architect, they should pay to have a plaque placed at a suitable, discrete location on the new Holy Cross campus.
