Comments: As a parishioner of St. Frances Cabrini and a resident of the area, it is with sadness that I say we must let the site go. Our neighborhood is destroyed and our rebuilding as a community is very slow. There are very ,very few parishoners even living in the parish as I write this .It is street after street of vacant houses. What was once a vibrant and beautiful community is now just a neighborhood of vacant houses. With heavy hearts we must move on and look toward our future. HC should be allowed to build on the site. We need to hear the sounds of children and the sounds of the rebuilding of our neighborhood. HC can contribute to this. For those of us who have returned to this community and are putting our lives back together, we want to see progress and people in the area. HC will serve as a catalyst for businesses to return and new families to purchase homes. I deeply miss seeing my parish family, but I know many have no intentions of ever returning. We have cherished memories that will stay with us forever. It's time to move on.... FEMA, let HC purchase the site.
