This grant program provides grants to arts organizations that have made an impact locally, statewide, regionally, or internationally.

Who Can Apply:

  • Nonprofit arts organization domiciled in Louisiana with a letter from the Internal Revenue Service declaring it exempt from Federal income tax under Section 501(c)3 of the Federal Internal Revenue Code, dated at least two years before the application deadline. 
  • Those classified as an arts organization by meeting the following three characteristics: 
  1. Have an independent board of directors.
  2. Have an organizational mission statement which states that a primary goal of the organization is to provide arts programming to the general public.  The arts disciplines include dance, design arts, folklife, literature, media, music, theatre, and visual arts and crafts.
  3. Provide a reasonable educational or outreach plan for children and/or adults that corresponds to the organization’s size and mission for children and/or adults.
  • Organizations that have been incorporated for at least two years.
  • Organizations that have received at least two years of municipal and/or government funding.
  • Organizations that have income and expenses of at least $30,000 in the last completed fiscal year.

How to Apply:
Grant applications for the 2020-2022 GOS grant cycle will be submitted online through the statewide online grant application system, 
www.mygovernmentonline.org.

Grant Calendar:
The General Operating Support Grant Program is on a two-year grant cycle.  Applications for the next grant cycle will be available in January 2020.
