At this stage, both interior and exterior locations remain open for consideration.

This flagship facility will serve as both a gateway to the Joe Aillet Stadium and a hub for academic, wellness, and leadership support for all Louisiana Tech student-athletes. The artwork should feature a realistic and recognize depiction of the Louisiana Tech Bulldog mascot.

This opportunity invites artists to create work that reflects the legacy of the nursing profession, the values of the School of Nursing, and the cultural and environmental context of South Louisiana. The selection committee envisions a cohesive suite of artworks that honors the legacy of the School of Nursing while inspiring those who pass through the building each day.The commissioned artwork(s) should honor achievement, resilience, and service while inspiring future generations of nurses.

STEM Complex

Rendering of the Southern University Baton Rouge STEM Complex

The Louisiana Percent for Art Program seeks qualifications from professional artists or artist teams for site-specific public artworks at the new STEM Complex at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge.

The STEM Complex will serve as a central academic facility supporting instruction and research in the STEM disciplines, including biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics. The building will be a hub for students and faculty and will support the university's mission of advancing science, innovation, and academic excellence.

This commission is intended for one artist or artist team, who will develop a cohesive series of three related artworks for key locations within and around the building. Potential locations include suspended and wall-mounted installations within the building’s main atrium, as well as an exterior sculptural work at the site.

This is a request for qualifications. Proposals are not required during this stage.
