The Louisiana Percent for Art Program seeks qualifications from professional artists or artist teams for site-specific public artworks at the new STEM Complex at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge.

The STEM Complex will serve as a central academic facility supporting instruction and research in the STEM disciplines, including biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics. The building will be a hub for students and faculty and will support the university's mission of advancing science, innovation, and academic excellence.

This commission is intended for one artist or artist team, who will develop a cohesive series of three related artworks for key locations within and around the building. Potential locations include suspended and wall-mounted installations within the building’s main atrium, as well as an exterior sculptural work at the site.

This is a request for qualifications. Proposals are not required during this stage.

northwest Louisiana Technical Community College

Nursing & Allied Health Addition

The Louisiana Percent for Art Program invites professional artists to submit qualifications for an interior artwork opportunity at Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College's (NLTCC) Mansfield Campus, where a new addition is being constructed to support expanded Allied Health and Nursing education programs.

Several wall areas suitable for two-dimensional artwork have been identified. The selection committee may recommend one or more artists to provide completed and available artwork for the facility, depending on the final selection of works and available wall space. 

Preference will be given to artists who are listed on the Shreveport Regional Arts Council artist roster and/or artists residing in Louisiana Region 7, including Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Claiborne, Bienville, DeSoto, Red River, Sabine, and Natchitoches Parishes.

Southern University New Orleans

Nursing and Allied Health Building

The Louisiana Percent for Art Program seeks qualifications from professional artists and artist teams for two public art commissions at the new School of Nursing & Allied Health Addition at Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO).

The School of Nursing is grounded in a mission to lead trauma-informed, equity-driven nursing education that transforms underserved communities through innovative systems, sustainable growth, and intentional leadership. The facility will support the next generation of healthcare professionals while serving as a visible investment in healthcare education and workforce development in New Orleans.

Eligibility: Professional artists and artist teams residing in the Greater New Orleans area, including Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, and Washington Parishes.

Two separate commissions are available:

Interior Commission
Budget: $40,000 (all-inclusive)
One artist or artist team will be selected to create an interior artwork for prominent public spaces within the facility, including opportunities for wall-mounted, suspended, or three-dimensional work.
