University of Louisiana at Lafayette

Madison Hall

An architectural rendering of the new Engineering Building (Madison Hall) at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

The Louisiana Percent for Art Program seeks qualifications from professional artists or artist teams for an exterior, site-specific, three-dimensional public art installation at Madison Hall on the campus of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The selected artist will create both an interior and exterior artwork that together reflect the College of Engineering's values while celebrating the culture and character of South Louisiana. The exterior component will activate the new building entrance, while the interior component, located in the building's lobby, will serve as a visual centerpiece for students, faculty, and visitors.

This commission is open nationally to professional artists 18 and over with demonstrated experience in public art and large-scale installations.

This is a request for qualifications. Proposals are not required during this stage.
